Exploring the world one word…and one mile…at a time

About Us

We quit our day jobs, emptied our backpacks, and sold our stuff…most of it, anyway.  After more than a decade of following someone else’s path, we embarked more than four years ago on a self-assigned creative sabbatical that has brought us through 35 states, 9 countries, and 16 national parks…and counting!  We set out on the road and into the wilderness in the spirit of the scribbling wanderers who roamed before us—chaps like Kerouac, Thoreau, Muir, and O’Hara—seeking to honor life by living it, and through that living, to have our experiences inform and influence and inspire our writing.

We spent most of 2012 and 2013 on the road, traveling around the U.S., Europe and the Caribbean. 2014 brought with it new adventures on both the personal and professional fronts, as we continued the work we started with our wellness coaching company, freelance writing business, small independent press and part-time roles in the non-profit and literary worlds.

In late 2014, we decided to chase the wind out west to Arizona, taking advantage of an opportunity to refill our wallets and our creative coffers in the Sonoran Desert. That led to another move in early 2016 to the wilds of Silicon Valley, where we’ve both returned to traditional employment while maintaining the creative and adventurous spirits that define us.

In the midst of these most recent changes, we’ve been quieter here as we navigate new landscapes, but we feel the need to write rising again within us. We remain relaxed, inspired and strong, with legs that carry us deep into the Santa Cruz Mountains and passports that remain at the ready. We continue to expect the best and prepare for the worst while remaining open to wherever our journey takes us.

We are happy you are here.  Thanks for coming along for the ride!

When are you going to add Steppenwolf’s “headin down the highway looking for adventure in whatever we see”?

Now you will have to re-adjust to the world of high traffic volume on your way to Tampa. Take in a spring training game in the land of the Yankees. Daniel Boone would be proud of your adventures!

Hello Michelle……. I could not summarize how their writings make me feel any better than you just did. Freedom to really live each day to the fullest is wonderful to read. They give me hope that my freedom will come too.

    • It will!…probably when you least expect it. For now, perhaps you can find it in a single moment each day, if not for an entire day.
